Stephen Poulos

Stephen James Poulos, age 81, of Marinette, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at the Harbors in Menominee. He was born June 10, 1945 in Marinette to Charles and Anne Poulos. Stephen graduated from Marinette High School in 1963. He enlisted in the United States Army for three years and was stationed in Korea and Fort Knox, KY. After service he earned a degree in Business Management and moved to Las Vegas, NV to be near his brother, Nick.

Stephen developed a career in the gaming industry, working at Sam’s Town, The Star Dust, The Fremont, Caesar’s Palace and the Casino Monte Lago as Floor Supervisor and Casino Pit Manager. He moved back home to Marinette in March of 2024. Stephen had been a member of Marinette Masonic Lodge 182 for 53 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anne Poulos and a brother, Nicholas.

Stephen is survived by his sister, Gloria (Ken) Anderson of Menominee; a nephew, Christian; a great-nephew, Jack; and a great-niece, Liberty, all of Lake Stevens, WA.

Stephen has been laid to rest at Forest Home Mausoleum next to his parents and brother in private ceremonies.

A humble and heartfelt thank you to God for all the special people He put in our lives to care not just for Stephen, but all the people they care for and serve. Among them, the Aurora Clinic, the Aurora Hospital and Emergency Medicine personnel, Emergency Rescue Squad, Northland Luther Home, the American Legion and heartfelt gratitude to Jackie Nowack.

Deep appreciation to all at the Harbor’s Retirement Community with a special thank you to Kathy Scoggins and Tami Hasse, and all at Jem Care, the VA Clinic, Cornerstone Caregiving, Debbie Kernshield, Aaron Hayard and Dr. Schreiner and staff as well as U.P. Home Health and Hospice. They are all our blessing from God.

Additionally, our heartfelt gratitude is extended to those who helped Stephen move into his home when returning to Marinette; Rick Polzin, Mark and Mike Bayerl, Jake Steppke and Joe Nault of the Marinette Police Dept. who went above and beyond to help Stephen with his move. Also, a special thank you to Atty. Joe Jones and Atty. Steve Wolfe for serving Stephen’s legal needs and to Jim Martell.
