Princeton Welty

Posted

Princeton James "PJ" Welty, 17, of Crivitz, was born in Marinette, WI on May 31, 2009. He was tragically taken from us in a car accident late Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Princeton was going to be entering his senior year at Crivitz High School, unfortunately he will not be walking down the aisle with his classmates. Princeton had the biggest blue eyes, a contagious smile that could light up a room, and he could start up a conversation with anyone but yet he had a shy side. He was polite, kind, and had a huge heart worrying about everyone else instead of himself and his needs. Princeton loved everything about trucks, cars, and car shows, it was his passion.

He enjoyed working on them with friends and would love it when his friends would call for his help or opinion.

Princeton also enjoyed fishing (he was darn good at it), hunting (got 2 in a row first day hunting), basketball, football, and camping with his family. We will forever miss hearing his voice and seeing his smile. Princeton recently started working a construction job which he loved, and we believe that’s the field he would have leaned towards as he has plenty of family members in that field of work. He also worked at Corner Grille since the age of 14 with his mother and a mentor for him, Dennis Bergeson as a dishwasher, worked his way up to cooking, he enjoyed learning it and making new food items. Princeton also helped work on the family farm. He loved driving tractors and helped start the idea of bringing back driving a tractor to school on their last day. Princeton was looking forward to being an adult and as he would put it making them “Stacks” of money. Sadly, he will never get that chance either.

Princeton is survived by his parents; Dan and Teanna Welty, his sister; Khloe Welty, his grandparents; Jeff and Clare Welty, aunts and uncles; Lana (Kevin), Aaron (Becky), and Gage, cousins; Della (Moises), Karlie (Simon), Madelyn, Reid, Henry, and many more extended family members including Caleb and Kwrina. Plus, there were so many friends.

Princeton was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Brenda Fuller and Donald Krippel.

We want to extend a special thank you to our extended family Town of Lake Fire Department, Crivitz Rescue, Middle Inlet Fire Department, and Marinette County Sheriff Department. Especially, Town of Lake Fire Department “Thank You” for holding up two of your fellow firefighters during this tragic accident, which you all knew Princeton very closely too I know it hurts for you all as well. Crivitz Rescue the same goes to our relatives on that Department “Thank you!”

We would also like to thank the community and surrounding communities for all their love and support during this time.

Family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 716 Henriette Ave in Crivitz, WI. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
