Patricia "Patty" JoAnn LaBombard-Milstead, age 61, of Bellevue, Nebraska passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, with her children, parents and sister at her side. Patty had a lot of love surrounding her, after a long fight with cancer.

Born on November 8, 1964, in Menominee, MI to Patricia and Roger LaBombard. Patty grew up with a passion for drawing and art. After high school, Patty enlisted in the United States Air Force where she served as an administrative assistant for a general. After serving 4 years in the Air Force, she completed her Bachelor Science of Nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1990. After graduation, she served a 35-year career as a proud and dedicated registered nurse at St. Joesph’s Hospital, Bergan Mercy, Creighton University Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine. Her specialty was being a cardiac nurse but also served in CVICU, ICU, NICU, Emergency Room and Oncology. Patty was known for her constant selfless service to others and quick-witted humor.

Beyond her professional life, Patty was a loving mother to her 4 children and very involved with her church, St. Mary’s Antiochian Orthodox Church in Omaha. She spent her free time relaxing with family and friends. She also loved her multiple beagle dogs that she owned throughout the years, including a few rescue beagles (who were injured). Patty will be remembered for her selfless love for others, quick humor and always willing to lend an ear to listen.

Patty leaves behind her children and spouses: Heather Newell (Ryan), John Milstead (Ashleigh), Kevin Milstead, Brian Milstead (Rachel); parents, Roger Sr. and Patricia LaBombard; brother, Roger LaBombard (April); sister, Kimberly Van Beek (John); four grandchildren: Elliana Newell, Adriella Newell, Willa Newell and Thomas Milstead; her divorced husband and father of her children, Christopher Milstead. She was preceded in death by long term and incredibly special significant other, Robert Joesph Sus.

Funeral services were held Saturday , January 10, 11:00 AM at St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Omaha, Nebraska

INTERMENT: Resurrection Cemetery with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Antioch Orthodox Church.
