Dorothy M. (Udell) Gummin, 95, of Pound, the last surviving of the three children of the late Everett and Bertha (Bowman) Udell, transcended into Glory on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Dorothy was born on February 23, 1930. She attended and graduated from Mountain High School in May of 1947. Dorothy met and married Arthur L. Gummin and they were together for 74 years.
Dorothy relished social interactions with her family, friends, neighbors and members of her parish. She lived her life with grace and stoicism which influenced everyone around her. Dorothy raised seven children, worked on the family’s dairy farm and was known by many for working in local retail establishments. As a former contestant on Jeopardy, she enjoyed watching the game show on TV. She loved playing board and card games with anyone willing to gracefully lose. Dorothy was well read and had an abiding faith in God.
She is survived by her seven children; Beverly (Jim) Rock, Gayle (Dick) Schenkoske, Karline (Kirkby) Roseveare, Randy (Julie) Gummin, Aleta (Jeff) Watton, Brian (Ingrid) Gummin and Wade (Carren) Gummin. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, sister and their spouses.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home 235 E. Main St. Coleman, WI. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. The service will begin at 3:00 PM with Pastor Mark Kostreva officiating. Luncheon to follow.
