Donald R Hermansen, 71, of Marinette passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026. He was born to Robert and Merl (Smith) Hermansen on November 19, 1954, in Menominee. Don graduated in 1972, and in 1973 began working at Marinette Marine until he retired in 2013.
Don's passions were family, sports, and talking about them. He loved life, was always positive and happy. He was the voice of reason and always had that one liner to make you smile or laugh. He made new friends wherever he went.
His survivors include his soulmate and wife, Elizabeth “Beth” of 38 years, his amazing children: Andy, Megan, Brooke (Joe), and Bridgette (Dave). He has ten beautiful grandchildren whom he cherished: Natalie, Gabriella, Aleigha, Clay, Kal-el, Louis, Gianna, Sam, Vivian, and Maverick. He is also survived by his sisters, Patti Pilacek and Barb (Steve) Sequin; his in-laws, Roger (Liz) Wicklund, Karna (Mike) Langer and his father in law, Gordon Wicklund. His nieces and nephews were all especially close to him as well. He loved them as if they were his own children. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, mother in law, Darlene; niece, Stephanie; nephew, Troy; brother, Bill; and brother in law, George.

Honoring Don's wishes no service will be held. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
