Rennes Group helps fund life-saving equipment for City of Peshtigo Fire/EMS

Posted

PESHTIGO – The Rennes Group is proud to announce its support for the City of Peshtigo Fire and EMS Department’s fundraising efforts to purchase a LUCAS Chest Compression System, a life-saving device used during cardiac emergencies.

The department’s goal is to raise $23,000 to acquire the equipment, which provides consistent, high-quality chest compressions to patients experiencing cardiac arrest — giving first responders more time to focus on other critical life-saving interventions.

In October, the Rennes Health & Rehab Center — Peshtigo East hosted a raffle basket fundraising event to benefit this cause. The staff worked tirelessly to organize, promote and execute the event, aiming to make a meaningful impact for the local first responders who serve the community. Their efforts paid off — raising an impressive $2,200 through community participation and generosity.

Recognizing the dedication behind this initiative and the importance of supporting emergency responders, Rennes Group has chosen to match the funds raised, bringing the total contribution to $4,400 toward the LUCAS machine.

“The idea came as we were getting ready to celebrate First Responder Day,” said Tara McKenney, activity director at Rennes Health & Rehab Center — Peshtigo East.

“We thought it would be fun to do something that truly helps our first responders and benefits the entire community. We enjoyed organizing the event and were thrilled to exceed our initial fundraising goal of $1,000.”

The LUCAS machine is a mechanical chest compression device that delivers consistent compressions during CPR, ensuring patients receive uninterrupted, effective circulation even during transport or complex rescues. This technology greatly enhances the chances of survival and recovery for cardiac arrest patients and supports the health and safety of EMS personnel.

“Rennes Group has tremendous appreciation for our community’s first responders — the EMS teams, police officers and firefighters who dedicate themselves to protecting and serving others every day,” said Nikki Schingick, president for Rennes Group. “We’re proud to support the City of Peshtigo Fire and EMS team by contributing to a life-saving piece of equipment that helps them be even better equipped in times of emergency.”

The City of Peshtigo Fire/EMS Department continues to welcome community support to reach their full fundraising goal of $23,000.

Those interested in contributing may contact Fire Department Chief Chuck Gardon for more information on how to help make this vital purchase a reality.
