Posted

In a thrilling matchup on Homecoming night, the Lena/STAA Titans secured a commanding 36-6 victory against the Suring Eagles on Friday, Sept. 26.

Lena set the tone from the very beginning, kicking off the game with a strong defensive display. They took an early lead of 6-0 after scoring a touchdown from a fumble in the end zone, though they were unable to convert the extra point. For the Eagles, junior standout, Kriox Kempka, fought valiantly, racking up impressive yardage throughout the game.

On the other side, Max Peterson of Lena consistently propelled the Titans’ offense forward, also racking up yardage himself. As the first quarter wound down, Suring struggled to regain momentum, while Lena stayed poised and focused.

In the second quarter, the Titans extended their lead to 12-0 with 9:18 remaining on the clock. Closer to half, with 2:22 minutes left, the Eagles found themselves at 1st and goal from the 9-yard line. In a tense moment, Suring decided to call a timeout during a crucial fourth-and-goal situation with only 30 seconds left.

Unfortunately for them, Lena’s defense held strong, forcing a turnover on downs just as the clock expired, leaving Suring trailing 12-0 at halftime.

Emerging from the locker room, the Titans didn’t let up. They scored on their first drive of the third quarter, increasing their lead to 20-0 and solidifying their control of the game. An impressive long pass to Kriox Kempka ignited hope for the Eagles, who found the end zone and managed to score their first touchdown.

However, a failed extra point attempt kept the score at 20-6, leaving Suring in a challenging position.

As the fourth quarter unfolded, Lena put the final nail in the coffin with yet another touchdown, extending their lead to 26-6. Lucas Heimke stepped up, successfully converting two extra points to push the score to 28-6. The Titans’ defense remained a formidable force, consistently forcing the Eagles into turnovers and limiting their progress on the field.

In their final push, Lena added one more touchdown before the end of the game, closing out the contest with an impressive score of 36-6.

With a guaranteed victory in hand, Lena’s jubilant fans erupted in cheers, chanting, “I believe that we have won!”

The Titans’ remarkable performance not only secured a decisive win but also ignited a wave of excitement and pride among their supporters.

This homecoming night will certainly be remembered as a great victory for Lena/STAA.
