GFWC Menominee Women’s Club begins Balsam Wreath, Swag and Garland Fundraiser

MENOMINEE, MICH. – GFWC Menominee Women’s Club will hold its next club meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 4, with a general meeting at Riverside Country Club, located at 3459 14th Ave., Menominee, Mich.

Check-in and social time will begin at 11:30 a.m., with lunch served at noon. The business meeting and program will follow.

The menu includes spinach salad, turkey, mashed potatoes/gravy, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. A vegetarian option of cauliflower steak, cream corn puree, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans is also available.

The cost of the meal is $20 per person, payable at the door with checks or cash only.

The program will be a presentation on Freedom for Patriots. Freedom for Patriots is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Menominee, Mich., which supports active-duty military members, veterans and their families through therapeutic recreation and outdoor experiences.

All area women are invited to attend the meeting. Reservations are required. To reserve a spot, please call Jean Kollross at (906) 863-8551 no later than noon on Friday, Oct. 30.

Completed Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Shoeboxes can be turned in or picked up at the club meeting.

Completed OCC Shoeboxes can also be turned in at Truth and Function — located at 1617 10th Ave., Menominee, Mich. — by Nov. 20.

Additionally, the club is holding its annual Balsam Wreath, Swag and Garland Fundraiser.

Wreaths and swags can be purchased decorated or undecorated.

Wreaths are available in the following categories: 20 in. to 24 in. — $25 undecorated or $35 decorated; or 30 in. to 36 in. — $45 undecorated or $55 decorated. Swags are available undecorated for $10 or decorated for $20.

Balsam Garland is available in six, 12, 18 or 24 ft. lengths for $12 per six-foot length.

Proceeds from the Wreath Fundraiser are donated back to local communities.

Order forms are available from any GFWC Menominee Women’s Club member as well as on the home page of the club website, www.gfwcmenominee.org. On the club website the “2026 Wreath Order Form” is a white button on the opening photos — click the button to open the form, then print the form.

A completed form with a check can be turned in to a club member or mailed to GFWC Menominee Women’s Club, PO Box 302, Menominee MI 49858. Phone orders can also be placed by contacting Jean Kollross at (906) 863-8551.

All wreath orders must be prepaid. The deadline for orders is Nov. 11. Wreath pickup is on Friday, Nov. 20, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, located at 1309 14th Ave., Menominee, Mich.
