The No. 9 seed Peshtigo High baseball team flipped the script Thursday in sturgeon Bay, May 28, knocking off No. 8 Sevastopol 5-2 in a WIAA regional opener after dropping both regular-season meetings to the Pioneers, 6-1 and 10-2. Braydon Denowski battled through traffic all afternoon, working 5.1 innings and repeatedly escaping trouble before Bryce Heroux slammed the door in dominant fashion. Heroux struck out five over the final 1.2 innings and stranded a bases-loaded jam in the sixth with back-to-back strikeouts before fanning the entire side in the bottom of the seventh to end it.
