OCONTO – For Destiny Benesh, owner of Western World LLC, horses have been part of her life for as long as she can remember. Now, that lifelong love is behind a new business in Oconto, one she hopes will bring people together through shared interests, knowledge and stories.
The Oconto Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Western World LLC, offering English and Western tack, apparel, home goods, feed and more. Behind the selection is an owner who understands how much these animals, and the relationships built around them, mean to people.
Benesh has spent 25 years riding, with experience in dressage, jumping and trick riding, along with trail riding. Her care for horses has also led her to rescue many from kill pens, giving them another chance.
That same spirit of care shapes her vision for Western World: a welcoming place where longtime riders, newcomers and families can feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their experiences.
“Western World LLC was created so everyone can come together and share a passion and a story,” Benesh said.
For Benesh, the family feeling inside the store matters just as much as what is on the shelves. She is grateful for every customer who walks through the doors and hopes those first visits become relationships that last for years.
“Opening a business means putting a piece of yourself out into the community,” said Samantha Routheau, president of the Oconto Area Chamber of Commerce. “Destiny is sharing something she has cared about her whole life. We’re grateful she chose Oconto as the place to build it, and we hope people take the time to meet her, hear her story and see what she has created.”
Western World adds a new shopping opportunity to Oconto while giving people with a shared love of horses a place to connect. It is also a reminder that behind each local business is someone taking a chance on an idea that matters to them.

Western World LLC is located at 202 Main Street (inside Cellcom) in Oconto. Store hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The store is closed Sundays.
