Spring tournament sportsmanship award recipients announced

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, in partnership with Rural Mutual Insurance Company, has selected the team Sportsmanship Award winners for the 2024 Spring State Team Tournaments.

NORTA announces 2024 Richard T. Lowery Educator of Excellence recipients

OCONTO – For many years, Nicolet-Oconto Retired Teachers’ Association (NORTA) has been awarding one teacher from each of seven school districts, an Educator of Excellence Award.  When NORTA was searching for a way to encourage educators and reward them for a job well done, Richard Lowery came up with this idea.  After Richard’s passing, the association voted to rename the award in honor of Richard.

Donate To Tackle Cancer Recipients

The School District of Coleman gathered in the gym on Thursday, Oct. 19th to present checks and honor six recipients from the 11th annual Tackle Cancer Game played on Friday, Oct. 13.  This event was created and is organized by Tricia Zeitler.  

Niagara Scholarship Recipients

Niagara Class of 2023 Lions Club Scholarships recipients included from left: Abigail Richtig who received the Russel and Carol Sauld Memorial Lions Scholarship, Kiley Johnston received the Dwayne and Joyce Smith Memorial Lions Scholarship, Anthony Phillips, recipient of the Kerry Grippen Memorial Lions Scholarship, and Josie Learned received the Roy Eggen Memorial Lions Scholarship. Each received a $500 scholarship.
