MARINETTE – The Tri City Event Series (TCES) was established in 2023 after receiving a grant from the M&M Area Community Foundation. TCES is made up of members from a Community Health Partnership – Nutrition and Physical Activity Workgroup through Marinette County Public Health.
The TCES brings 12 events together over the course of a 12-month period throughout Marinette, Menominee and Peshtigo. It exists to:
Provide motivation for community members in Marinette and Menominee counties to become more physically active and feel better connected throughout the entire year.
Support and enhance current community events with volunteers and race supplies to bring a professional and “big race” feel to every event to help increase overall participation.
Grow offerings for children to help them create a positive and lifelong connection to physical activity, improve mental health, develop new relationships and decrease obesity.
Increase area offerings in the future through the addition of new events such as Half Marathons, Duathlon and/or Triathlon.
The TCES had its inaugural celebration on April 9, 2024 at the Provident Health Foundation in Menominee, Mich. The celebration was attended by participants that volunteered or participated in four or more events and race directors that held events making up the Tri City Event Series. Steering committee member Brian Cleven was the guest speaker and Green Bay Packer Alumni, Chris Jacke, took pictures with guests and answered questions for the group. Prizes were raffled off and awards given to each participant and volunteer. The TCES starts its next season off with the Bellin 5K Heart Run/Walk & Kids Run on April 27. TCES looks forward to a year full of community participation from all ages. See this link for 2024-2025 TCES events: https://www.tricityeventseries.com.
