Scott F. Sweningson, 73, of Peshtigo, passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area on Friday, December 26, 2025. He was born January 13, 1952 in Marinette to Alfred and Marlyn (Olson) Sweningson and had resided on the Sweningson homestead property in the Town of Grover all of his life. He was a 1972 graduate of Peshtigo High School and later the Milwaukee Area Technical College. Scott worked as a machinist for over 20 years at FMC Corporation in Green Bay and later at L.E. Jones Co. in Menominee before retiring.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Scott also enjoyed annual trips to Canada with his good friend, John Hanson (deceased) and vacation trips with his wife, Bonnie, to Alaska, the Caribbean and Isle Royale National Park.
Scott is survived by his wife, Bonnie Behnke-Sweningson; step-sons, John and Steve Ehlers and grandchildren, all in Milwaukee; numerous cousins in Peshtigo and California; and many lifelong friends in the Peshtigo area.
A visitation with a memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette beginning at 9:30 a.m. and concluding at 11:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow from 12 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at a location to be announced.
