CRIVITZ – The Crivitz High baseball team opened the WIAA Division 3 playoffs with dominant pitching and plenty of offense Thursday, May 28, beating Gillett/Suring 10-0 in a regional matchup at Crivitz High School.

Arpke was also a force at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two RBIs, two stolen bases and a run scored. Colten Tarmann added three hits, including a double, drove in two runs and stole two bases.

Michael Stahl went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Jaxon Kroll and Ryan Kaus each added a hit, while Kroll, Stephen Allard, Pierce Polomis, JJ Brand and Schramm also scored for Crivitz.

The Hornets struggled to solve Schramm and Arpke but did manage to draw one walk. Parker Haak worked five innings in relief for Gillett/Suring, striking out 11 while allowing six runs, two earned, on eight hits and three walks.
