Russell Leslie Baker, 82, of Appleton, WI, passed away on November 14, 2024 after a long fight with cancer. Born on April 2, 1942, Russell proudly served in the United States Army, dedicating many years to his country with honor and distinction before returning to civilian life. He then devoted the following 39 years to working with Greyhound Bus Lines.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosalie Ann Paris Baker; his father, Leslie C. Baker; his mother, Juanita Elinore Hiatt Baker; and his sister, Mary Newton.
Russell leaves behind a cherished family, including his sons, Steven and Timothy (Stacey); his adored granddaughters, Stephanie (Chris), Leanna (Dalton), and Faith; his cherished great grandsons, Connor and Aiden; and his adopted granddaughter, Janice (Emilio).
Russell will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his selfless service to his country, and the kindness and strength he brought to all who knew him. His absence will be deeply felt, but his legacy will live on through the love of those he leaves behind.
A service in his honor will be held on Saturday, November 23 at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home, 610 Marinette Avenue, Marinette, WI 54143. The visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a service at 1 p.m. Burial will occur following the service at Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
