“Prehistoric Pets” brings a dinosaur-themed animal adventure to Lena Public Library

Posted

LENA – Families are invited to travel back in time and discover the living descendants of prehistoric creatures as J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue presents “Prehistoric Pets at the Library” at the Lena Public Library on Monday, June 29, from 1-2 p.m. This free, family-friendly event will take place at 200 E Main St., Lena.

Part of the Summer Reading Program, Prehistoric Pets explores the fascinating connections between modern animals and the ancient creatures that once roamed the Earth. Through live animal encounters and interactive learning opportunities, attendees will discover how reptiles, amphibians, and other remarkable species still share traits with animals that lived during the age of dinosaurs.

The program will feature live animals that share traits with prehistoric species, hands-on learning and up-close encounters, fun and educational facts about evolution, adaptation and survival and lessons about responsible pet ownership and animal conservation.

Opportunities for photos and questions during the presentation

“Many of today’s reptiles and amphibians can trace their lineage back millions of years,” said Megan Anderson, Education Specialist at J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue. “This program helps families make those connections while learning about science, conservation, and the incredible adaptations that have allowed these animals to survive through time.”

Designed for curious minds and animal lovers of all ages, Prehistoric Pets combines science, history, and live animal encounters to create a memorable educational experience.

Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the event. J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue is available for interviews before or after the presentation.
