PESHTIGO – The Peshtigo Lions Club is proud to recognize three exceptional students whose dedication to academic excellence, community service and future career aspirations embody the spirit of service that Lions value.
Through the generosity of club members and supporters, these scholarships help invest in the next generation of leaders who will make a difference in their communities.
This year’s scholarship recipients, along with their families, were invited to attend the Peshtigo Lions Club Annual Picnic, where they were recognized for their achievements and celebrated by club members. The annual picnic provided an opportunity for Lions to congratulate the students personally and wish them success as they begin the next chapter of their educational journeys.
The prestigious Chet Krohn Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Daphne Cornell, who will be attending Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) and UW-Green Bay. Cornell plans to pursue a degree in nursing, specializing in geriatrics and psychology.
Her commitment to caring for older adults reflects both compassion and a desire to improve the quality of life for one of the most valued populations. By combining nursing with psychology, Cornell hopes to provide holistic care that addresses both the physical and emotional needs of her future patients.
The Peshtigo Lions Club is pleased to award a club scholarship to Lily Sabel, who will attend UW-Green Bay to pursue a degree in biology.
Sabel’s passion for the biological sciences demonstrates her curiosity, determination and commitment to learning. Whether her future leads to research, healthcare, environmental science or another scientific field, the foundation she builds in biology will allow her to make valuable contributions to society.
The Peshtigo Lions Club also proudly recognizes Eli Berndt as another club scholarship recipient. Berndt will attend UW-Stevens Point, where he will pursue pre-physical therapy with the ultimate goal of earning a doctorate in physical therapy.
Berndt’s ambition to help individuals regain mobility, independence and quality of life through rehabilitation is both admirable and inspiring. His dedication to pursuing advanced education reflects the perseverance and compassion needed to succeed in the healthcare profession.
The Peshtigo Lions Club congratulates Cornell, Sabel and Berndt on their outstanding achievements. Their hard work, determination and commitment to excellence give us confidence that they will become leaders in their chosen professions and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
The Peshtigo Lions Club is honored to invest in the future through its scholarship program and remains committed to supporting local students as they pursue their educational and career goals. The club wishes each of these outstanding young people continued success in college and beyond.
