Posted

PESHTIGO – The organizers of the Peshtigo Fire Tower Run/Walk donated a record $5,250 back to the community from the entries collected on Sept. 27.

The donations went to benefit a variety of local organizations, such as
the Peshtigo Music Parents Fund for special musical events; City of Peshtigo Fire Department for improvements and training; Students Eat Every Day (SEED); and the Peshtigo Kids for Running Club for purchasing running shoes and covering race entry fees.

Additionally, $1,000 was donated towards the purchase of a new weed harvester for the Peshtigo River.

Peshtigo Running Club Coaches Derek Smith and Josh Lepinski accepted a $1,000 donation during their fall awards banquet on Nov. 4.

Lastly, a $500 check will be distributed at a later date to a YMCA program or fund that further promotes health and wellness within the community.
