Oconto Falls – The Oconto Falls wrestling team notched a handful of victories on Thursday, Jan. 11 but came up short on the scoreboard as Wrightstown took the dual by a final points total of 42-31.

For the Panthers at 215 pounds, Bryce Schefdore won by fall at 3:03. At 190 pounds, Nick Trepanier scored six points for the Panthers with a win by fall at 4:55. Oconto Falls’ 165-pound competitor, Andrew Derouin took a win by fall at 2:54.

Isaiah Holtz at 106, Garrett Ganter at 113 and Cole Bozile at 138 also won their matches for the Panthers.

Peshtigo powers past Suring/Gillett

Oconto – The Bulldogs overwhelmed their opponents from the Suring-Gillett team on Thursday, Jan. 11, putting together a near-perfect round in the Oconto/Peshtigo/Suring-Gillett triangular for a 75-6 victory.

Brendan Conn won by fall at 1:03 in the 132 pound match; Levi Nemec, at 126, won by fall at 0:36; Addisen Olson won the 120-pound match by fall at 5:59; Eli Camps won by fall at 0:40 in the 113-pound bout; Carson Patterson got his pin in the 285-pound match at 5:04; Malakai Yakel had a victory at 150 pounds by way of a fall at 0.58; and at 144 pounds, Nathen Kleikamp won by fall at 5:18.
