Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association, Inc. (NLMGAI) welcomed the public to Harmony Arboretum and Demonstration Gardens during their open house event on Thursday, July 17. They gave advice to local gardeners, passed out information about the different aspects of Harmony and invited anyone who is interested to join their organization. NLMGAI volunteers have been working hard not only to maintain the beauty of the many gardens, but also to create exciting and new offerings. Most recently, they have been renovating the rock garden by adding fresh mulch and planting new flowers.

The Herb and Fragrance Garden was a bustling spot during the open house as many people interacted with the fragrant plans like anise and lavender. The herbs grown here were also incorporated into the beverages served at the open house, showcasing their culinary usages.

Inside of the Children's Garden visitors can interact with the Sensory Garden to find new ways of connecting with nature. Harmony Arboretum and Demonstration Gardens is open year-round for families and community members to explore the wide range of plants that are native to the area.
