Mary Jo Wessely, 72, of Menominee, MI passed away on Saturday, September
21, 2024. She was born in Kewaunee on September 30, 1951, to the late Stanley and Donna (Magle) Horak.
Mary Jo married Joy Wessely on April 7, 1973, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kewaunee. Together they enjoyed spending time with their family and taking
care of their grandchildren. They loved to travel and would occasionally visit a
casino. Mary Jo enjoyed painting pictures and painting rocks, baking and
decorating cakes, and making fudge.
Mary Jo is survived by her loving husband, Joy; daughter Melissa (David) O’Neill, Jamestown, RI; son Scott (Danielle) Wessely, Marinette; grandchildren LTJG. John Patrick O’Neill, Thomas O’Neill, and Gabriele Wessely; brother Gary Horak, Pensacola, Fl; sister Sandi (Larry) Aerts, Denmark, WI; sister- in-law Pat Horak, Sturgeon Bay; nieces Michelle (Michael) Sproul, Chesterfield, MI, Donna Horak, Kewaunee, Sara Fiala, Two Rivers; great nieces and nephews Autumn, Brook, and Landon Sproul, Aubriana, Layla, and Nora Clark.
In addition to her parents, Stanley and Donna, Mary Jo was preceded in death by her brother Sammy Horak; and her in-laws Alvin and Phyllis Wessely.
A visitation will take place at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services -Kewaunee on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. The Funeral service will take place at 4:00 pm with Deacon Bob Miller. Online
