MARINETTE – The Marinette County 4-H Royalty were honored and crowned on Sunday, Aug. 2, by judges Alexandria Broderick, Kim Harding, Debra Heitman and former royalty.
Considered royalty were judged on poise, 4-H activities, speeches and interviews.
Trent VanDeWalle, son of Troy and Katie VanDeWalle of Peshtigo, was crowned king. He is a senior at Peshtigo High School and is a member of the Merry Go Getters 4-H Club.
Emilie Gerken, daughter of Shanon Gerken and Krista Tisler of Crivitz, was crowned queen. She is a freshman at Crivitz High School and is a member of the Middle Inlet Moonshine 4-H Club.
Grace Gromala, daughter of Christopher and Heather Gromala of Peshtigo, was crowned Princess. She is a senior at Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy and is a member of End of the Trail 4-H Club.
Rebekah Retza, daughter of Bill and Julie Retza of Crivitz, was crowned Princess. She is a senior at Crivitz High School and is a member of the Golden Opportunity 4-H Club.
Royalty will be handing out ribbons and awards at the Marinette County Fair, as well as helping with 4-H activities throughout the year. They can also be seen at parades around the county.
