Loving Memories
I saw a loving mother,
Sitting in her yard one day,
Her children were gathered around her
And I heard them laugh and play,
Upon this mother’s lap there lay,
A book all worn with age,
In fact it had a little tare,
And a teardrop on that page,
It showed a picture of Jesus,
With a child upon his knee.
Then the Mother called, “Now children”
Here’s something important for you to see,
So she gathered her children around her,
So they each could have a look.
And then she read the story,
From the book of Mark and Luke.
Her voice was sweet and gentle,
And filled with love and care,
And the children knew Mom loved them,
And that they had a God that cared.
These children are all grown now,
And they’ve gone their separate ways.
But the loving memory of their mother
Will last forever – not just days
