“Let’s Talk Gardening!” classes begin in March

MARINETTE – The Northern Lights Master Gardeners and the Marinette Senior Center are teaming up to present a summer long series of gardening classes called “Let’s Talk Gardening!”

These classes will be open to the public, and there will be no charge to attend. Gardeners of all ages and skill levels are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Each hour-long session will cover a wide variety of timely topics presented by local gardeners. Afterwards, there will be ample time for open discussion to answer any questions.

These classes will be held on the first Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m. The first class will be held on Wednesday, March 4, with the final class being held on Wednesday, Oct. 7. This series of eight classes will be designed to help gardeners throughout the entire growing season.

In the first class, the group will cover topics such as the pros and cons of starting plants from seed or buying seedlings from a local greenhouse; the difference between onion plants and sets; what fruit trees are the best for the area; advantages of different types of soil; and much more.

These events will be held at the Marinette Senior Center, located at 1603 Ludington St., Marinette. Pre-registration is not required.
