Larry D. Draeger, born January 10,1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed Away peacefully in his home on August 24, 2024.
He was the beloved husband of Susan A. Draeger, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage. Together, Larry and Susan enjoyed a life full of love, adventure, and shared joys. First In Milwaukee and later during retirement in Crivitz, Wisconin.
Larry's life was marked by dedication and service. He entered the U.S. Army in 1960, where he served as a mechanic and artillery tract mechanic. After completing basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Larry was stationed at Fort Still and in Germany before his honorable discharge in 1963. Following his military service, Larry embarked on a successful career in the plumbing field, beginning with an apprenticeship in 1964. He later took his exam for his master's license in plumbing. He retired in 2005 after decades of dedicated work, having been a proud member of Plumbers Local 75 since 1965.
An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Larry found joy in hunting deer and waterfowl, trap shooting, and was actively involved in Duck's Unlimited and Wisconsin Waterfowl. He also had a passion for riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, and traveling, embracing every opportunity to explore and experience life to the fullest.
Larry was a devoted family man, cherished by his children Mike Draeger (Dawn), John Reichert (Judy), and JoAnn (Draeger) Miller (Greg). His legacy continues through his grandchildren Jazz Sutto, Brittany Dumphy, Brandon Draeger, Lauren Reichert, Sarah Finch, as well as his great-grandchildren Octavia, Maeve, Christian (CJ), Paxton, Penelope, Oliver, Kate, JJ, Henry, Cam, and Vic. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who will remember him fondly.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Wallace, mother Virginia (Ginny) and brothers Darrell and Donald. His kindness, generosity, and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by family, friends, and acquaintances.
A remembrance of Larry's life will be held on September 20th from 9-11AM the service will be at 11AM, at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 801 George Street, Crivitz, Wi. 54114. 715-854-7460. Family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the impact he had on their lives.
