Kray Gannigan

Kray Albert Gannigan, age 74, of Coleman, died Friday, December 20th, 2024. He was born to Gottlieb and Alice Gannigan of Coleman on November 16, 1950. Kray graduated from Coleman High School in 1969 and started his job at Scott Paper Mill. He was drafted into the Army in 1969 and was stationed in Germany. Kray came home in January of 1972 and married Avis Anderson on January 20th, 1973. Kray returned to the paper mill in 1972 where he worked for 44 years.

Kray and his wife, Avis also operated a dairy farm until 1983. Although the cows were sold, Kray continued to farm with his son-in-law Ken for the rest of his life. He was a member of the American Legion Post 280 in Coleman and thrived on helping others. Kray would lend a hand whenever needed.

He was known by his family for being able to fix almost anything and was proud of the cabin he built with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Avis, daughters Jennifer (Kevin) Klimek and Lisa (Ken) Seefeldt, grandchildren Cade (fiance Mikayla Reek) Klimek, Kailey Klimek, Cole (special friend Chloe Halford) Klimek, Austin (Rebekah) Seefeldt, Megan Seefeldt, and Max Seefeldt, sister Yvonne (Dean) Zempel, sister-in-law Pam Gannigan, sister-in-law Lois Anderson and nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by his parents Gottlieb and Alice Gannigan, his brother Terry Gannigan, and his brother in law Richard Anderson.

Vistitation was held Saturday Dec 28th at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Grover from 9AM – 11AM. Funeral Services were held at 11AM. Pastor Daniel Sargent officiated. Berth & Rosenthal is serving the family.
