Kenneth W. Wright, 89, of Marinette passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 11, 1937, to the late Jack and Ella (Black) Wright in Detroit, MI. Ken was patriotic and proudly served our country in the U.S. Army for two years. On September 6, 1958, Ken married Helen Holbus and they were blessed with more than 67 years together. Ken worked for Scott Paper Company for 37 years in both Detroit and Marinette before retiring in 1994. During retirement, they spent their winter months in Ocala, Florida where they made lifelong friends over the course of 25 years. Ken was devoted to his family, and was proud to attend his grandchildren's events, always offering them encouragement. He was a person of great faith, and he loved golfing, music, traveling, and trips to the casino.
Ken is survived by his wife, Helen; his children: Linda (Doug) Bjorkman, Karen (Jon) Van Drisse, Ken (Susan) Wright Jr., and Lorene (Jesse) Blohowiak; grandchildren: Rachel (Matt), Nathan, Nicholas, Samantha, Joseph, William, Henry, Eli (Grace), and Isaac; great granddaughters, Marley and Mila; brother, Jack Wright; sister Patricia Mitton; several nieces and a nephew; and many dear friends in Erie, PA, who he thought of as family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24th at Thielen Funeral Home from 3-6pm. Additional time of visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25th at St. Mary's Church in Peshtigo from 9-11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am with Fr. Michael Lightner officiating.
Ken's family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to all the caregivers who provided home care from Cornerstone, and to all the caregivers at The Cottages and Moments Hospice, for their compassionate care of Ken.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Ken's memory.
