Joanne Meyers, 83, of Peshtigo, WI received her white robe under the Throne of God on December 24th, surrounded by her husband of 64 years and her three children. Joanne was born to Donald and Anna Pecor in Sewickley, PA on October 20, 1942. Moving to Marinette she attended the Marinette Schools. She married Ronald Meyers at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Pound, on October 7th 1961. She was a Sunday School teacher, member of the Ladies Aid and Bible Study Class. She presently was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Peshtigo.
Joanne retired from NWTC in Marinette as a PM Secretary and Testing Agent. Joanne enjoyed traveling the U.S. and casino trips.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Ronald; children, Laurie (Jim) Johnston of Marinette, Donald (Cindy) Meyers of Birch Creek Menominee and Debra (Len) Yoap of Coleman; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and is further survived by a sister, Donna of Texas; and a sister-in-law, LaVern Rouse of Peshtigo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Ella Meyers of Pound; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Odekirk of Plymouth, WI.
As per her wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Her remains will be laid to rest at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Pound.
