A life well lived, Jack L Schroeder of Crivitz passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026 at the age of 91 surrounded by love and family. Leaving us with cherished memories and a profound sense of loss.

Jack lived a life rooted in simple pleasures, hard work, and a deep love for the outdoors. From an early age Jack found joy in nature which he passed down to his children and grandchildren. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, and had a special talent for forging mushrooms. Deer season was especially meaningful to him. He looked forward to deer camp at Buck Hollow, where he spent every year in the woods waiting for “That Buck”, his love of hunting never faded. He continued hunting in Silver Cliff well into his later years, remaining active in the tradition he loved until the age of 90.

His green thumb was undeniable. His raspberry patch was nothing short of impressive. During the summer months you would often find him patiently picking berries and selling them to anyone who wanted them year after year. He enjoyed the fruits of his labor and the peace that came with it.

He dedicated much of his life as a postal carrier, a role he took great pride in. Jack was a familiar face in the morning at Crivitz feed mill sharing coffee, stories, and laughter with the locals. His warmth and easy conversation made him someone people looked forward to seeing.

In his later years Jack found comfort in quieter moments. He enjoyed watching westerns, doing word searches, reading western novels, admiring his three cats, feeding the birds that gathered at the feeder and spending time with his great granddaughter. These peaceful hobbies reflected a life well lived and appreciation for the small meaningful details of each day.

Above all else, Jack's greatest love was his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, stories, and the way he made ordinary moments special. Jack leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work and a life closely connected to nature and his family.

He is survived by his 4 children Lisa (Steve) Boettcher, Jack (Pam) Schroeder, Hank (Julie) Schroeder and Chad (Lisa) Schroeder. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Special thanks to Cornerstone Caregiving, Twin Bridge Rescue Squad and special friends Butch and Carol Thilke.
