Jack and Kathy (Wills) Vorpahl - Letter to Editor

We’re writing this letter to compliment Cathi Malke on the many things she has done for the City of Peshtigo since becoming our Mayor. Thanks for seeking out and obtaining Grants that have helped shape our city with these cost saving Grants over the years. 

Cathi has worked with people who have started new businesses especially trying to fill the empty buildings around the city. 

The City of Peshtigo has excellent Police and Fire Departments which are available when we need help. Our city Crew is fantastic with snow and leaf removal. The new Recycling and Garbage automated system seems to be working very well. It’s amazing how easily these bins can be tipped and rolled into position at the street. I see the city truck picking up our garbage with one worker instead of the usual three which is freeing up more workers to catch up on other work around the city giving us more service. 

Our Badger Park keeps thriving and looks in excellent shape. 

Thanks for the hard work done by Cathi and our Council members. Thank you for steadily moving our city forward. She has an open ‘ear’ when we have questions or in need of direction. We thank her for listening closely to our concerns. 

Thanks to the foresight of past Mayor Al Krizenesky who envisioned a fish viewing platform extended over the river, Cathi’s work, planning and encouraging donors to come forward, we now have the beautiful, completed project to welcome and show locals and guests the wonders of the Peshtigo River.
