Helen Viola Thyne, 77, of Wallace, left this world peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

Helen was born in Marinette on April 1, 1947, to her parents, John and Stella (Matykowski) Gall. She graduated from Marinette High School in 1966 and married her husband, Mark, on October 27, 1973. Together, they remained in Marinette to raise their children, Justine Garbaciak and Christopher Thyne. Helen’s best career choice was that of a wife, mother and later, a grandmother. Nothing brought her greater joy in this world than the love and devotion she had for each of them in the most important roles life has to offer.

Mom was content with very simple things. She never needed or sought out anything more than time with her family. She loved to share those moments in any setting. Our most cherished moments are those with mom together, and her contagious laughter we all know, love and will miss. Mom’s heart and soul was pure, genuine and unwavering and will be missed by her family more than she could ever imagine.

Helen is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mark; daughter, Justine (Mark) Garbaciak of Suamico; son, Christopher (Katie) of Mishicot; eight grandchildren whom she cherished: Abbie, Hayden, Haley, Daxton, Gabriel, Lydia, Grady and Ellie. She is further survived by her sisters, Mary (Jim) Welsh (Peshtigo) and Valerie (Fred) Wilch (Peshtigo); in laws: Dorothy Gall (Florida), Karen (Bob) Wanek, (Kaukauna) Gordy (Elizabeth) Thyne (Marinette), Pete (Marguerite) Thyne (Marinette), David (Karen) Thyne (Marinette), Burl (Lisa) Thyne (Marinette), Daniel Thyne (Green Bay), Jennifer (Randy) Hammer (De Pere); and many nieces and nephews.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Gall; mother and father-in-law, Burl and Virginia Thyne; sister, Viola Rondeau; brother, Joe Gall; sister-in-law, Stephanie Thyne; nephew, Leigh Rupert; and nephew, Bobby Wanek.

And so ends this journey we have been honored to stand by your side on; providing our unwavering support, strength, and devotion back to you, just a tiny fraction of which you sacrificed for all of us each and every day. You truly are, and always will be, our angel.

A celebration of Helen’s life and service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Marinette on Saturday, September 28, 2024, with visitation from 2pm-4pm followed by a service at 4pm and luncheon to follow. Burial will be held at Forest Home Cemetery. Thielen Funeral Home will be assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
