On January 4th, 2026, our beloved Heather Tiegs went home to the Highlands.
Devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
Heather was born November 15, 1942 in Glasgow, Scotland to William and Helen Browning. At the age of 14 she and her family moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin. It was there Heather met and married Donald Tiegs and they began a new chapter of her life in Oconto, Wisconsin.
Heather was employed with the Commission on Aging for over 25 years, where she fulfilled her need & desire to take care of others. Heather was an active member of Holy Trinity parish where she volunteered countless hours over the years whether it was cooking for the St. Joe's hot lunch program, church dinners, helping with the St. Vincent De Paul rummage sale or cooking for the community Manna meals.
Heather’s greatest pleasure in life was her family - always putting them first and caring for their needs. She was fiercely devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by and forever missed, her loving husband of 61 years, Donald. Children: Michele Tiegs, Sharon (Ron) Aubry, Jeff (Lynn) Tiegs, Nancy (Brian) Magee and Diana Tiegs. Grandchildren:Brandon (Jamie) Bourassa, Ben (Anna) Bourassa, Bryan Aubry, Erik (Erinn) Aubry, Miles Exworthy, Lexi (Kate) Woodworth, Megan (Andrew) Ford, Sarah Woodworth, Annamarie (Hunter) Ludvigsen, Louden Woodworth, Rainey Dae Tiegs, Chrissy (Bobby) Ward, Michael (Erin) Walker, Asia Alomia and Edwin Alomia. Great Grandchildren: Allison, Jaelyn, Charlie, Ethan, Henry, Elizabeth, Levi, Isla, Rowan, Calum, Jameson, Harper, Caroline, Easton, Emmie, Ezra, Ruth and Great Great Grandchild Brynlee. She is also survived by her sister Helen Kidd, brother Irvin (Mary) Browning, brother in-law Gerald (Donna) Tiegs, sister in-law Violet Reed, sister in-law Shirley Tiegs-Kappen, her lifelong friends Donna Van Hulle, Francis Morrical & Judy Gurnovitz as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen Browning, siblings, Jean Browning & Wilma (Paul) Beyer.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto, from 9 to 11 AM Monday, January 12, 2026. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 AM Monday at the church by Rev. Francis Nusi. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
I'll ken the world still carries you. My mum, my star, that willna die. Though she's gone from sight, her voice, her care, her love — they echo still in every step we take. May this lilt carry her memory, soft as the Highlands wind, into the days ahead.
