Good Shepherd to host annual Chicken Booyah Community Meal

Posted

PESHTIGO – Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will host their 12th annual Chicken Booyah Community Meal on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The event will be held at the church, located at 331 Pine St., Peshtigo.

All proceeds from the sale will be donated to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Menominee and Marinette counties. CASA volunteers are specially trained individuals who work with the court system to support children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.

These advocates complete an eight-week training course and then are officially sworn in to serve in both Marinette and Menominee counties. Once approved, each volunteer is matched with a child or sibling group and becomes a consistent, supportive presence in their lives. Their role is to ensure that every child’s voice is heard and that they have a safe, stable and permanent home.

The Chicken Booyah Community Meal is open to everyone. A free will offering is suggested for those eating in. A drive-through will be open for to-go orders, priced at $12 for a quart or $35 for a gallon.

Preorders may be placed by contacting the church office at office@goodshepherdpeshtigo.org or (715) 582-3595. Please let the church know the name and phone number of the person ordering and the desired quantity. All preorders must be picked up by noon.

This meal is made possible by donations from the congregation and an Action Team grant from Thrivent Financial.
