Gene R Sebero, 87, of Peshtigo, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 22, 1939, to the late John and Ellen (Watson) Sebero in Marinette. He graduated from Crivitz High School in 1957. Gene worked as a certified welder, a mechanic for Banazak Chevrolet, owned and operated his own service station, and worked for Ansul for 37 years, retiring in 2001. On December 22, 1989, Gene married Patricia “Pat” Vertz in Marinette; she preceded him in death on June 13, 2022. He was a member of Porterfield Lutheran Church, the Porterfield Sportsman's Club, Interstate Stock and Custom Car Club and a life time hunters safety instructor. He loved anything to do with classic cars and Harley motorcycles.
Gene is survived by sons, Duane (Leanne) Sebero of Marinette and Michael (Brenda) Sebero of Jonesborough, TN; daughter, Lorrie (Paul Kowalski) Wickman of Porterfield; step daughters: Patricia Ugoski of Crivitz, Margaret (Bill) Kojis of Wausaukee, and Debra (Mark) Lytie of Green Bay; step son, Joe (Julie) Hummel of Crivitz; half brothers, Steve (Rita) Renikow and John Sebero; sister, Jane (Duane) Bucholtz; half sisters, Sherre Hooper and Jo Anne Harrison. 12 grandchildren; and many great and great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, and wife, Pat, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Morse and half brother, Carl Renikow.
Visitation will be held at Porterfield Lutheran Church on Sunday August 30th from 1pm to 3pm. Prayer Services will be held at 3pm with Pastor Dan Moschea officiating. Burial will be at Porterfield Lutheran Cemetery.
