Dean Zempel

Following a long journey with dementia, Dean Zempel passed peacefully with family by his side on June 16.

Dean leaves behind a large and loving family. He was married to his wife Yvonne for 43 years. He has seven children, two daughters through marriage, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was blessed with many dear friends throughout his life.

Proceeded in death by his mother and father, six brothers, three sisters and one daughter.

Dean retired as an electrician from Marinette Marine, where he dedicated many years. He was proud to be part of the founding crew of the Middle Inlet Fire Department, serving as a volunteer firefighter for 15 years. Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, tractor pulls, and attending the Hodag Country Music Festival. He was especially proud of his Allis-Chalmers tractors. Dean made friends wherever he went and will be remembered.

Dean was a member at The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. John’s in Grover. The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Pastor Sargent for his comfort and prayers. Visitation for Dean will take place at St. Johns Lutheran Grover on Friday June 26th from 9AM- 11AM. Funeral services will be at 11AM. Berth & Rosenthal is assisting the family.
