Darrell Dettman

Darrell Dean Dettman, 75, of Marinette, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 9, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. He was born October 24, 1949 to Ralph and Helen (Kamin) Dettman and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Marinette High School with the Class of 1969. Darrell had a broad knowledge of mechanics and worked at KSU and Enstrom before spending numerous years as head of maintenance for Trinity Lutheran Church and School. He retired from Silvan Industries in Marinette. Darrell was a dedicated outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was also a skilled woodworker. He was generous in using his skills to help anyone in need of assistance.

Darrell is survived by his children, daughter, Breanna (Greg) Cychosz of Stevens Point, WI and son, Jeremiah Dettman of Wrightstown, WI; one granddaughter, Quinnlyn Cychosz; his siblings, Patty (John) Jagielski, Dennis Dettman, Doug (Barb) Dettman and Linda Dettman (friend, Janet); and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Tim Walk.

Visitation will be at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home on Sunday, November 17th beginning at 3 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. led by Pastor Josh Frailing.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Alimpertis and his team at Aurora Cancer Center for their special care and support of Darrell. The family would also like to extend their gratitude towards Moments Hospice for their compassion and care of Darrell for his last days at home.
