Daniel James Steier, 61, of Coleman, entered his eternal reward January 4th , 2025.
Daniel was born March 29, 1963, to Willard and Marilyn (Patz) Steier. Daniel (Danny) had exceptional needs and needed constant care, which his parents sacrificially and lovingly provided. While his family didn’t fully understand why Danny was brought into the world with special needs, they are grateful to God that he gave Danny to them and for the impact he had on them during his years on earth.
He attended schools for special needs children in Marinette and Crivitz for many years and worked for a time at a sheltered workshop at Wausaukee Enterprises, doing simple manual labor. Danny was always fascinated by farm and construction machinery, loved to ride in the countryside to view farm silos, and in earlier years ride his adult tricycle on the family farm.
Danny loved bowling and participated in local Special Olympic events in Marinette County, achieving awards in his favorite sport. He also loved to listen to country and gospel music and was particularly fascinated by the turntable playing records.
Danny was a friend to everyone he met and was always ready with an outstretched hand to give anyone a friendly handshake. He was a man of few words, but communicated his needs in ways any of his caretakers could understand. One can only wonder at the way Danny is now able to communicate with those greeting him in heaven.
Grateful to have shared his life are his siblings: Alan (Judy) Steier of Greenwood, DE; Judy (Martin) Brown, and Linda (David) Pellman, of Coleman, WI; 3 nephews and 5 nieces; 17 great nephews and nieces; two aunts, Adele Patz, Coleman, WI and Susan Patz, Seymour, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Marilyn Steier.
Family greeted relatives and friends on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home 235 E. Main St. Coleman, WI., 54112. Visitation was held from 10:00 A.M until 11:00 AM. A funeral service followed beginning at 11:00 A.M.
