Curtis “Curt” Raymond Burch, 94, of Silver Cliff, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 5, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Curt was born on October 26, 1931, in Boyceville, Wisconsin, to the late Albert and Isadore Burch. He married his first wife, Mary Aebly, on November 25, 1952, and together they raised their family. After Mary’s passing, Curt later married Darlene Thielbar Urban on December 31, 1997, in Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
Curt proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for three years as a private first class and was a member of American Legion Post 66. He was also a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crivitz, Wisconsin.
He will be remembered for his love of cutting firewood and always keeping a fire going in the backyard pit. Curt enjoyed fishing and sharing his catch with family and friends. His smile, kind soul, zest for adventure, morning coffee with his buddies, afternoons spent up at Jeff and Deb’s, and patrolling the neighborhood on his scooter “Miss Pinky” will be cherished memories for all who knew him.
Curt loved ice cream and took great joy in spoiling his grandchildren with cones and sweets—something they will always remember. He treasured collecting and making maple syrup with his grandson Jack and son‑in‑law Jeff. One of his proudest accomplishments was being inducted into the Snowmobile Hall of Fame for his snowmobile ride out to Yellowstone with his son Steve and friends.
Curt is survived by his wife, Darlene; his six children: Karen (Jerry) Richardson of Green Bay; Steve (Diane) Burch; Debra (Jeff) Gromoski of Silver Cliff; Cheryl (Bob) Bowers of Green Bay; Lynda (Jim) Kroon of Willcox, Arizona; and Dan (Carrie) Burch of Suamico. He is also survived by his stepchildren: Michael Urban of Denmark; John (Tracy) Urban Jr. of Freedom; Joseph Urban of Kaukauna; and Connie (Richard) Schuessler of Antigo; along with many grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, brothers‑ and sisters‑in‑law, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years, Mary Aebly; his brother Julius (Irene) Burch; his sisters Norma Smith and Lois (Phil) Klingelhoets; his step‑grandchild Danny Biernasz; and many brothers and sisters in‑law.
Visitation will take place at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crivitz, Wisconsin, on Thursday, April 9, from 9:00–11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date at Chimney Rock Cemetery in Connorsville, Wisconsin.
Thank you to Hospice, Uber driver son in law Jeff, and the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home for assisting the family.
