CRIVITZ – The Crivitz Area Women’s Club (CAWC) gathered at the end of June to give away over $30,000 in donations to local nonprofit organizations. While the specific amount donated to each group varied, all funds will go towards bettering Crivitz and the surrounding communities.
The women’s club hosts a variety of fundraisers throughout the year in preparation for their annual giveaway.
“We are very proud of what we accomplished and very grateful to everyone that supports us,” said corresponding secretary Diane Mueller.
Donations given were divided by types of groups, including:
Fire departments and rescue squads: Crivitz Rescue Community Garden, Middle Inlet Fire Department, Middle Inlet Dive Team and Twin Bridge Rescue Squad.
Food pantries: Crivitz Food Pantry and Pastor Fred’s Food Pantry.
Libraries and library affiliates: Crivitz Area Public Library, Crivitz Area Library Advisory Board, Wausaukee Branch Library, Friends of the Wausaukee Library, Marinette County Elderly Services, Marinette and Oconto Literacy Council, St. Vincent DePaul Conference and Wausaukee Enterprises.
CAWC programs: Christmas Angel Tree and Crivitz School District book giveaway.
Miscellaneous: Crivitz-Stephenson Historical Society, Crivitz Youth Baseball and Softball, Disciples Inc., Dorothy’s Haven of Hope and Eden Restored Lifestyle Center.
