Community support impacts Coleman Police Department

Posted

COLEMAN – The Coleman Police Department is wrapping up on a variety of updates thanks to the help of community donors.

The department recently had striping done on the squad car, which came at zero cost to the village due to a sponsorship from Kevin Casper of Wagner-Casper Insurance Agency. The striping and logos were done by Rite Way Truck N Stuff.

The Coleman Police Department shared their plan to purchase solar speed boards to deter speeding in school zones earlier this winter.

After raising $10,500 in donations, Police Chief Adam Bieber shared that two speed boards were purchased for about $4,000 each.

In a Facebook video Chief Bieber said, “I really believe they’ll improve highway safety [and] give drivers a little more help to maintain a safe speed through that school zone and on our roadways for our kids.”

The boards will initially be installed near the school district on Highway CP, but can be moved around the village during the summer break as needed.

A large variety of community contributors donated to the speed boards, including: United Cooperative; Land O’Lakes, Inc.; Patz Corp.; Rymer Heating; Kudick Automotive; Coleman Parts LLC; Coleman-Pound Lions Club; Eddie’s Ideal Landscaping; Kunz Dirt Services; Styczynski Construction Solutions LLC; Tappin’ Teachers; Sunny+Squirrel Lasercrafts; BT Speed Shop; Front Porch Market; Katie’s Subs; Karban’s Spraypainting and Sandblasting; All Season’s Painting and Home Repair; GreenStone FCS; Country Visions; North Wood Flooring; Peshtigo National Bank; Meatski’s; Beaver Machine, Inc.; Crandall’s Coatings LLC; Dan Risner & Son Excavating LLC; Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller; Graetz Mfg., Inc; Lanette and Karl Casper of Primerica; Piggly Wiggly round-up; and more.
