Coleman students participate in Phuture Phoenix Program

Posted

GREEN BAY – Last month, the Coleman fifth graders — along with their teachers Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Heitman and Mrs. Behringer — traveled to UW-Green Bay to participate in the Phuture Phoenix Program.

This program has been in place for over 20 years and Coleman was delighted to participate in it for the first time. The goal of participating in this free program is to provide students with a better understanding of their higher education options after high school.

During the visit, fifth graders toured much of the UWGB campus, led by current college students considering a career in education. Coleman students saw spaces devoted to athletics, academics, the arts and student life, all while being fully immersed and able to ask questions of the college student role models.

Upon returning to Coleman, many fifth graders were encouraged and eager to learn more about UW-Green Bay as well as other learning options after high school.
