Coleman Continues to Dominate with Huge Win Over Rival Peshtigo

Posted

Coleman took their talents to Peshtigo and my oh my did the Cougar fan base come with. They gym was loud all night but it was the away squad making the ruckus. Coleman did drop a match early with Ethan Brissette (Peshtigo) having a pin fall over Cole Berth (Coleman). Immediately after that the leaders of the Coleman student section “the slick 6” put on their singlets and started the party of cougar wins and pins. Micah Kuchta was relentless with his take downs and continued to feed off the energy with a major decision over a very capable Lincoln Nemek 20-7. After his match he ran over and dapped up the 6 and this had the cougars off and running. Each win finishing with the cougar showing props to the prominent super fan group.  Kuchta has been on a roll as of late and this match was no exception, the Coleman Junior has a record of 44-7! With Coleman being inspired and precise over the last month, it is impossible to tell how many cougars could qualify for late season action. Look for Kuchta and Otto to lead their team deep into the late season. The Peshtigo winners of the night were Levi Nemec and Breden “The Barbarian” Conn. Conn was impressive in his match with a late pin. Connor Thomas has been missing from the team at 215 for over a week with a hamstring injury, Mount Peshtigo himself said “I’ll be back before regionals” and most would still expect him to make a late season push.

Lena and Marinette go head-to-head in Kewaunee

Local squads, The Lena Wildcats and the Marinette Marines, met head-to-head at he Kewaunee quad. The young and hardnosed Lena team edged out the Marinette squad 42-35. The match was a 6-point match but Cooper Smith was deducted a team point, a post-match issue that seemingly put the dual out of reach. Lena goes into regionals this week with high hopes of advancing their young guns while Marinette hopes the Smith Bros. can lead their squad to a late post season push.
