City of Peshtigo to host public input meeting on workforce housing concepts

Posted

PESHTIGO – The City of Peshtigo will host a public information and input meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to share and discuss concept plans for potential workforce housing on the Crossing Point property.

The meeting will be held in the cafeteria of the Peshtigo Elementary School, located at 341 N. Emery Ave.

The planning effort was supported through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s Thrive Rural Wisconsin Program and focuses on evaluating opportunities for workforce housing on the Crossing Point property located on Hale Road in the southern portion of the city.

At the meeting, Cedar Corporation will present the completed concept plans, including possible housing layout and design, estimated costs and development scale, infrastructure and planning considerations and potential next steps. The presentation will be followed by time for questions, discussion and public input. Concept plan displays will also be available for viewing.

“This meeting is an early step in the planning process,” Mayor Katie Berman said.

“No decisions have been made. We want to share the information that has been developed so far and hear feedback from residents as we consider how best to address workforce housing needs in our community.”

Members of the public are encouraged to attend to learn more about the proposed concepts and to share their input.

For more information, please contact Berman at katieb@cityofpeshtigo.us or (715) 582-3041.
