Peshtigo came out fast and stayed hot the whole night, only losing one match all night to Oconto’s Jaymison Markham at 138. At 132 Peshtigo’s Brenden Conn had an impressive pin fall over Tyler Beakman and at 165 Lincoln Nemec held on for a close victory over Dominic Caylor 6-4. The 165 bout was the most anticipated match of the night but some would say not the most exciting. Caylors explosive high end offense met Nemec’s technical defensive strategy which led to a slow paced match that saw Nemec’s victory met with loud BOOs inside the Oconto gym. After that the gym fell silent as Caleb Klimek pinned Adan Herrera Ramirez, Connor Thomas pinned Logan Christensen, and Carter Patterson pinned Alex Julka.
After finishing third at the Oshkosh on the water, and First at the Green Bay united scramble, “mount Peshtigo” (Connor Thomas) is on a climb to the top of the rankings in the state as Flo wrestling currently rates him 10th amongst all divisions at 215.
