Bill Krah

WILLIAM “BILL” KRAH, 90 of Menominee passed away on Sunday May 3, 2026 at home surrounded by his family. William Carl Krah Jr. was born on October 1, 1935 in Menominee to William and Florence (Peterson) Krah. He was a 1954 graduate of Menominee High School where he played football and basketball. On July 1, 1954, Bill married his high school sweetheart Mary Plautz at Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army National Guard. Bill worked at Scott Paper for 34 years. He was very active in the Mari-Scott Social Club. Bill was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where he served in various capacities. He organized the Men’s Breakfast Club, sang in the choir, served on the fellowship club and church council. Bill was a lifetime member of the Elks Club and was a drill judge for the Bay Jammers. His best times were spent with his family at the family cottage he built and Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp. Bill was an avid fan of the Menominee Maroons, Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years: Mary; 5 children: Pam (Dale) VanDuinen, Terri (Mark) Falkenberg, Scott Krah, Stacey (Dan) Hanley and Bill “BK” Krah; 13 grandchildren: Rebekah, Sarah (David), Jasson, Rich, Cully (Amy), Jennifer (Jeff), Brian (Vallerie), Michael (Autumn), Amanda (Kyle), Makenzie, Eli (Amber), Spencer and Charlotte; great grandchildren: Olive, Jude, Haley, Hannah, Madelyn, Mason and Micah; and great great grandchildren: Reese, Jiraiya and Shayla. Bill is further survived by special family: Nikki Leow, Donna Rife and Pastor Soren Schmidt; sisters-in-law: Pat Krah and Susan Plautz; brothers-in-law: Gary Thyne and Cliff Dotseth; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents: Bill Sr. & Florence; in-laws: Amanda & Ernest Johnson; daughter-in-law: Jill Krah; grandson: Marcus Falkenberg; brothers: John (Jane) Krah and George Krah; sisters: Faye (Blaine) Schahczenski and Darlene Thyne; sisters-in-law: Barb Dotseth and Eve Sarter; brothers-in-law: John & Bill Plautz; and special friend: Ross Rynning.

Visitation for Bill will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home on Friday May 8, 2026 from 3:00 pm until time of Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026 at Bethel Lutheran Church at 11:00 am with Reverend Scott Ehle officiating with Military Honors to follow. A luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill’s name to two of his very special places, Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp or Bethel Lutheran Church.
