Betty Jayne Koesling, 98, of Menominee, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026 with her family at her side. She was born to Arthur and Elfreda Snyder on December 6, 1927 in Granger, Minnesota.
Betty grew up in Charles City, Iowa where she married Loren “Larry” Koesling on February 27, 1954. The couple later moved to Menominee, Michigan when Larry became part owner of Men-Mar Broadcasting which operated radio station WAGN. Following Larry’s death in 2006, Betty continued to live along the Menominee River in the family’s Fairland Park home. She was a devout Catholic and volunteered whenever she could at church and school functions. She also enjoyed playing cards with her bridge club.
She is survived by four sons, Chuck, Scott (Linda), Kit (Beverly Currie) and Steve (Lisa); 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; son, Jim and daughter-in-law, Samantha; her parents; and 3 siblings.
Visitation will be at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette on Thursday, May 7th (please note date) from 4 until 6 p.m. and conclude with a Parish Vigil service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Church in Menominee at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 8th with Father Jamie Ziminski presiding, followed by a luncheon. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to so many friends who sent their prayers and offered their assistance in her final days. A special thanks to the nurses (Nikki and Brittney) and the aides (Lisa and Jackie) from U.P. Health Systems Home Care and Hospice for taking such great care of Betty. We would also like to thank Father Jamie Ziminski and Pastor Tim Gunderson.
