Menominee County Sheriff’s Office: January 25 – February 7

January 25

  • A deputy stopped a vehicle on Anderson Rd. in Daggett Township at 8:25 p.m. for defective equipment. The driver, a 40-year-old Daggett man, was arrested for having no operator’s license and no vehicle insurance. He was released with a citation.

January 26

  • Deputies responded to a domestic dispute in progress on #2 Ln. in Menominee Township at 11:04 a.m. While they spoke with the complainant, the suspect could not be reached. The case was referred to the prosecutor’s office for review.
  • A 32-year-old Iron Mountain woman was arrested for driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop for no insurance on US 2 in Meyer Township at 12:49 p.m. She was issued a citation and released.

January 27

  • Deputies were dispatched to a domestic incident on Lance Rd. in Lake Township at 6:47 p.m. A 44-year-old Daggett man was arrested for domestic assault and violating bond conditions. He was lodged at the Menominee County Jail.

January 28

  • A deputy took a fraud complaint on 10th Ave. in the City of Menominee at 10:30 a.m. A woman reported being notified by her bank regarding a duplicate check. The investigation is ongoing.
  • David Westlund, 48, of Bark River, crashed his vehicle on Q-4 Ln. in Meyer Township at 7:02 p.m. Westlund stated he was late applying his brakes and slid into a ditch. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle was towed.

January 29

  • At 3:19 a.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on 14th Ave. in the City of Menominee. The driver, a 31-year-old Marinette man, was arrested for a third offense of operating while intoxicated and possession of open intoxicants. He was lodged at the county jail.
  • A 57-year-old Stephenson woman was arrested for having no insurance and expired registration plates during a traffic stop on US 41 in Stephenson Township at 5:55 p.m. She was released with a citation.

January 30

  • Deputies responded to a dispute over a camper on CR 358 in Holmes Township at 12:57 p.m. The incident was cleared following an investigation.
  • A deputy investigated an animal bite on 1st St. in Spalding Township at 4:42 p.m. A person was bitten while attempting to catch dogs that had escaped from a house. The owner was located and the dogs were returned.

February 1

  • At 7:44 a.m., a deputy found an abandoned vehicle with heavy front-end damage parked near the fog line on US 2 & 41. The vehicle was towed after contact with the owner failed.

February 2

  • A resident in the City of Stephenson reported being scammed out of a large sum of money by a caller impersonating a computer technician at 7:26 p.m.
  • A 19-year-old Escanaba woman was arrested during a traffic stop in Harris Township at 8:35 p.m. She had a warrant out of Marquette for a bond violation related to a methamphetamine possession charge.
  • At 8:52 p.m., a 45-year-old Wilson man was arrested in Harris Township for a bond violation and possession of methamphetamine. He was lodged at the Menominee County Jail.

February 4

  • A Stephenson woman reported receiving threatening phone calls from a 46-year-old man at 8:26 a.m. The suspect was contacted and issued a warning.
  • A 31-year-old Nadeau man walking along #34 Rd. in Nadeau Township was arrested at 10:24 a.m. on a warrant for failing to comply with a court order.
  • A 38-year-old Marinette woman was arrested for operating while under the influence of drugs following a stop for erratic driving on 38th Ave. in the City of Menominee at 10:33 a.m.

February 5

  • At 12:51 p.m., a woman on Gerue St. in Stephenson reported receiving a fraudulent summons claiming she was being sued for money. The investigation is ongoing.
  • A 47-year-old Stephenson man was arrested for having no operator’s license during a traffic stop for loud exhaust and expired plates on Bay De Noc Dr. at 3:56 p.m.
  • A 19-year-old Marinette man was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of minor in possession during a traffic stop on Mill St. at 9:42 p.m.

February 6

  • Deputies investigated and closed a complaint regarding animal neglect on Vega Rd. in Meyer Township at 7:14 p.m.
  • At 9:07 p.m., a 47-year-old Powers man was stopped on GW Ave. in Spalding Township for driving without a valid license. Charges were sent to the prosecutor’s office.

February 7

  • Jacinta Gasperich, 30, of Gladstone, sustained minor injuries in a rollover crash on #34.5 Rd. in Gourley Township at 4:15 p.m. She lost control of her vehicle after hitting a snow drift.
  • A 38-year-old Hermansville man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and driving with a restricted license on US 41 in Daggett Township at 8:25 p.m.
  • At 11:51 p.m., deputies assisted with a welfare check on a 27-year-old Menominee man on Willow Rd., following a crash in Marinette County. The man had obtained a ride home and was later taken to the hospital for his injuries.

March 13

  • Stacey R. Schulte was cited for possession of THC at Marinette Ave. and Mary St. at 6:09 p.m.
  • Austin M. Monroe faces a felony theft charge following an incident at 2900 Roosevelt Rd. at 9:37 p.m.

March 14

  • Nancy Lemire struck a sign with her vehicle at Edwin St. and Pierce Ave. at 1:53 p.m. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.

March 15

  • Adam Bourdelais and Michael Luedtke were involved in a vehicle collision at Main St. and Liberty St. at 4:08 p.m. No injuries or citations resulted.

March 17

  • Shaileen A. Maldonado and Frederick Steese were involved in a two-vehicle collision at Main St. and Hall Ave. at 8:10 a.m.
  • At 8:59 a.m., John Pennings and Frances Holguin were involved in a collision at Main St. and Hall Ave.
  • Aaron K. Andersen was taken into custody for disorderly conduct at 146 Hattie St. at 2:30 p.m.

March 18

  • Jason Sorenson and Katherine Springberg were involved in a collision at Marinette Ave. and Cleveland Ave. at 11:56 a.m.
  • Isaiah Piotrowski and David Johnson were involved in a vehicle accident at 2201 Roosevelt Rd. at 8:19 p.m.

March 19

  • Wendell W. Myers was cited for public nuisance at 706 Main St. at 12:53 p.m.
  • At 1:14 p.m., Johnathan Maxson was arrested on a warrant at 2457 Minnesota St.
  • Jane M. Magnuson was cited for public nuisance at 325 State St. at 2:25 p.m.
  • Joshua D. Racette was arrested for a probation violation at 3540 Old Peshtigo Rd. at 2:29 p.m.
  • Theodore Grinsteiner and Ana Moreno Lugo were involved in a collision at 2900 Roosevelt Rd. at 2:58 p.m.

March 20

  • James LaLonde was involved in a hit-and-run accident at Hall Ave. and Van Cleve Ave. at 10:25 a.m.
  • Jack Woods and Caitlin McKenney were involved in a collision at Carney Blvd. and Shore Dr. at 10:57 a.m.
  • John Niemojuski was cited for trespassing at 2900 Roosevelt Rd. at 11:39 a.m.
  • Tyler Vandenberg and Sean Troutt were involved in a collision at 2103 Hall Ave. at 1:19 p.m.
  • Timothy Saunier was cited for a hit-and-run and unsafe backing following a collision with Dakota Cuff at 11 Ogden St. at 2:57 p.m.
  • Dylan Brocker was cited for possession of THC at Highway 41 and County T at 7:28 p.m.
  • Jason Kladehall was cited for possession of THC at Hall Ave. and Houston St. at 7:41 p.m.
  • Frank Curry was cited for possession of marijuana at Marinette Ave. and Bangs St. at 8:15 p.m.
  • Christopher Thoney faces charges of disorderly conduct, battery, and burglary to commit battery following an incident at 2019 Sherman St. at 10:12 p.m.

March 21

  • Stephanie Lesperance was taken into custody for a probation violation at 2931 Riverside Ave. at 12:15 a.m.
  • At 12:13 p.m., Samuel Chaney struck a parked vehicle owned by Brandon Kobiela at 2900 Roosevelt Rd.
