January 11
At 6:57 a.m., a deputy responded to a single-vehicle crash on US 2 in Harris Township where Emily Stenfors, 22, of Vulcan, lost control on slushy roads and entered a ditch. Stenfors sustained minor injuries, and the vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
At 4:48 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to M-2 Rd. in Daggett Township for a single-vehicle crash. A 25-year-old Daggett man ran off the roadway into a ditch following a medical issue; no injuries were reported, and the vehicle sustained minor damage.
January 12
At 2:00 a.m., a deputy on patrol witnessed a semi-truck overturn on M-35 in Ingallston Township. The driver, Geoffrey Moranga, 29, of Minneapolis, lost control while traveling north and entered a ditch. One occupant was hospitalized for pain, the semi was towed and Moranga was cited for careless driving.
January 13
At 1:32 a.m., a deputy performed a welfare check at a residence on Old Schoolhouse Rd. in Harris Township. Entry was made into the home, and the occupant was found to be okay.
At 7:28 a.m., a deputy responded to US 41 in Nadeau Township where David Strauss, 70, of Hermansville, lost control of his vehicle on slush and entered a ditch. No injuries occurred, though the vehicle sustained minor damage.
At 8:43 a.m., a deputy initiated a traffic stop for speeding on US 41 in Menominee Township. The driver, a 42-year-old Marinette man, was arrested for possession of methamphetamines, possession of a stun gun and carrying concealed weapons. He was lodged at the Menominee County Jail.
At 11:51 a.m., a deputy assisted a motorist parked along US 41 in Daggett Township. The driver was experiencing a medical issue and was transported by a rescue squad.
January 14
At 8:00 p.m., while attempting to serve civil process papers in the city of Menominee, a deputy arrested a 37-year-old Menominee woman on an outstanding warrant for assault and battery. She was lodged at the county jail.
At 11:16 p.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle in the city of Menominee for lack of security. An 18-year-old Menominee man was arrested for no security and no valid registration plates; he was cited and released.
January 15
At 12:50 p.m., a deputy spoke with a subject regarding a long-standing family dispute. The caller reported an incident with his uncle from several months prior and requested to file a complaint.
At 5:52 p.m., a deputy investigated a harassment complaint involving family members in the city of Stephenson. The matter was closed following the investigation.
January 16
At 7:23 a.m., a deputy responded to a two-vehicle crash on US 2 & 41 in Harris Township. Leslie Usher, 39, of Escanaba, was traveling too fast for conditions and rear-ended a vehicle driven by David St. John, 47, of Stephenson. No injuries were reported, but both vehicles were towed.
At 9:22 a.m., a deputy followed up on a crash that occurred the previous day on US 2 in Meyer Township. Joshua Garrow, 33, of Iron Mountain, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Trent Anderson, 47, of Powers, as Anderson attempted a left turn. Garrow’s vehicle was towed; no injuries were reported.
At 11:59 a.m., a deputy responded to a single-vehicle crash on M-35 in Cedarville Township where a 37-year-old Escanaba woman had entered a ditch. After being pulled out by a tow truck, the woman attempted to flee to avoid payment. She was stopped and arrested on a warrant for failure to pay fines out of Emmet County and lodged at the jail.
At 3:23 p.m., a deputy responded to another two-vehicle crash on US 2 & 41 in Harris Township. Kurtis Salmon, 29, of Kingsford, struck a vehicle driven by Pamela Peterson, 37, of Wilson, while she was waiting to turn. Peterson reported minor injuries, both vehicles were towed, and Salmon was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
At 7:10 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a crash on US 41 in Mellen Township. A 17-year-old male lost control on snow-covered roads, struck a mailbox, and entered a ditch; the vehicle was towed.
January 18
At 4:27 p.m., a deputy responded to G-18 in Holmes Township for a vehicle that had been parked in the roadway for several days. The vehicle was towed and processed as abandoned.
At 8:11 p.m., deputies arrested a 23-year-old Spalding man for domestic assault on Cedar St. in Spalding Township. He was lodged at the Menominee County Jail.
At 8:15 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault on M-35 in Ingallston Township, which was determined to be a verbal argument.
January 19
At 7:03 a.m., a deputy located a vehicle in a ditch on US 41 in Stephenson Township. Trinity Boggs, 21, of Carney, had lost control and struck a road sign; the vehicle sustained minor damage and was towed.
At 7:08 p.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle on CR 358 in Daggett Township for defective equipment. The driver, an 18-year-old Stephenson man, was arrested for having no operator’s license and cited for no proof of insurance.
January 23
At 6:51 a.m., a deputy responded to a crash on CR 551 in Harris Township. Sawyer Pearson, 19, of Wilson, lost control while attempting to pass another vehicle, entered a ditch and struck a fence. No injuries were reported.
January 24
At 3:39 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on US 41 in Mellen Township. A 41-year-old Waupaca man was stopped for expired registration plates, arrested for no operator’s license and no security on a motor vehicle and was given a warning for expired registration plates and was released.
At 7:46 a.m., a deputy received a fraud complaint from a resident on River Dr. in Menominee Township. The caller reported that her identity was stolen and an unauthorized person was added to her account to withdraw funds.
