Awards presented to Tactical Emergency Medical Services paramedics

Posted

MARINETTE – The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and City of Marinette Police Department honored two members of the Marinette County Joint Special Response Team for their actions during a critical incident on March 11, 2026.

Tactical Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) Paramedics Greg Lexow and Kirstin Banister were both awarded the Legion of Merit Award for their actions that helped provide immediate advanced lifesaving interventions and provided the critical medical care necessary to stabilize a subject who had a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Because of their actions, that individual ultimately survived his injuries.

As part of standard operating procedure, two TEMS paramedics respond as an integral part of any SRT response.

Also recognized was TEMS Paramedic and Supervisor Mike Orlando. He was presented with the Distinguished Service Award for his work in developing and coordinating the AMC-Bay Area Rescue Task Force (RTF) program.

This critical program has provided TEMS as part of the Marinette Special Response Team (SRT) since 2019. The creation and implementation of this task force has added vital lifesaving resources on scene to be available alongside law enforcement during critical incidents.
