PESHTIGO – Atlas Theatre Company is hosting auditions for their second main stage production this season, Nunsense.
This riotous show is a fundraiser put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken to raise money to bury sisters accidently poisoned by the convent cook, Sister Julia (Child of God). This madcap musical was called “wacky and outrageous with a hysterical ‘anything goes’ sense of fun!” by the New York Times when it premiered in New York; where it ran for 10 years Off-Broadway, spinning off into numerous sequels since.
“Atlas was originally launched in 2005, producing main stage and educational productions in a variety of cities; exploring different styles and genres,” says Mayse. “One of Atlas’ values is to provide opportunities for those of all skill levels to explore the performing arts in a safe and supportive environment; to engage, entertain and enlighten both its patrons and artists. Atlas Theatre Company invites and encourages those of all experience levels and ages to join.
Auditions for Nunsense are being held this upcoming Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 26 and 27, at Studio 170. A short monologue and 16-32 bars of music are requested, so check out the Atlas website for additional information about the auditions, as well as all-things Atlas: atlastheatrecompany.net.
